hints and tips on cake decorating?

I like to make pastries, although I dont usually decorate them as they eat too fast to bother, but I really am interested in taking a chance. Does anyone have any good advice on books, shops, better equipment, to help me start? I am a full-time mom so college isn’t an option, I have to teach myself. Salud!

There are a number of Cake Decorating Books by Debbie Brown. I can recommend. Usually make my kids Birthday Cakes myself. I can not say that look very professional, but children get to choose what they want and usually less resembles the application – they are always happy with the result! Try to find a Cake Decorating Shop premises. It sounds strange, but there is a bright near where I live. They sell every imaginable bit you may need to make and decorate cakes and are always happy to give advice. Happy baking.
