When frost cake?

I’m making a cake, can I frost my cake on a cake board? I have no cake turntable. After the frost the cake, can I leave it in a cake box at room temperature overnight?

I do not frost the cake board. That will be all messy. Tear small strips of waxed paper (or plain white paper) and plastic surgery of them under the bottom layer, leaving about an inch of paper exposed around cake. This is to keep the glaze of the piece serves. Pull the paper when finished.
