Father S Day Fondant Cake
Help with support for a two-tiered cake?
I have made a lot of cakes; however, I’m making my first two-tiered cake for Father’s Day. I know that you use dowel rods for support, but I’m just not sure when you put them in. Do I put them in before or after I put the fondant on?
You put them in before. You have the first layer, put the rods in, dirty ice it, and then put the second layer on. dirty ice that and then put the fondant on.
When I make small 2 tiered cakes, I don’t bother with the rods. Now, if its bigger, you HAVE to use them.
Have fun and I’m sure that he (whether its your Dad, Hubby, Bro, whatever) will love it no matter what!
