What to put on a theme of “Happy Feet” birthday cake?
My friend’s son is turning two and we wanted to make a themed birthday cake sorted out as the movie happy feet. I have made cakes in the past using household items or things that are easy to buy. (It ie with crushed vanilla wafers for the sand of the beach, lifesavers for tubes). I’m thinking about getting the penguins in Happy Feet Store, so that That’s not a problem. I know I must be ice and snow on the cake, but not everyone likes coconut, which would be the obvious choice. What makes you think about sugar large grain? What else I can use? I could also do a bit of water with blue gelatin, ive done it before and it was incredible (because a good wave like effect) What else can we use to decorate the cake? Thank you!
To make “ice icebergs – you can do this for icing cones parchment. O ice mounds freeze then put in the cake. Then just “carve out” the way you want, unless you are like icebergs already, and probably a mound of ice. The sugar will give a beautiful sheen. Wilton makes a crystal flakes and sprinkle sugar. Available in any store art – and sometimes at Walmart. So you do not have a crisis of raw sugar to the icing. Have fun! Sounds wonderful!
